In 1901 Carl Labhardt is replaced by August Schläfli as chairman of the board.
During and after the first world war the company is experiencing severe difficulties. It is not before 1927 that the sale of technical textiles, especially of felts, is increasing again.
The economist Dr. rer.pol. Carl Freise becomes chairman in 1925 after the resignation of August Schläfli.
The world depression in 1929 is destroying all hopes of the past years. The business is declining rapidly which leads to dismissals and a number of employees of 60 as the crisis reaches its peak. In this situation the company Dollfus and Noack of France takes control of the enterprise. |
