TTL in the 19th century

F. von Hove (1805-83)

The company Tuchfabrik Lörrach was founded by Friedrich vom Hove in 1838. In the beginning it employed 30 people who began to spin fabrics into facon. The product "Lörracher Halbleinen" in particular was a success on the market.

In 1866 the majority of the shares was sold to G. Bernoulli-Oswald, Friedrich vom Hove still having an interest in the company.

It was transformed into the first public limited company of the region in late 1872. Carl Labhard was appointed chairman. The founder Friedrich vom Hove died in 1883, "his" company giving work to 200 people.

At the end of the 19th century, in 1897, the company is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
